Description: This unit engages students in the concept of active citizenship through a series of nine well-supported activities. Over the course of study, students research the accomplishments and strategies of environmental activists and organizations, explore Public Policy and start to identify points where they can influence issues. Students’ work is compiled into an Environmental Activism Portfolio which sums up her/his understanding of environmental citizenship.
Content: A comprehensive series of nine learning activities each with teaching and learning strategies, supporting material/appendices, and assessment and evaluation opportunities.
