continued: Colin Harris of Take me Outside Challenge congratulates Assumption CPS, NCDSB

Colin’s journey inspired Assumption to make a stronger commitment to not only getting outside more often, but also to take care of the ‘outside’ school yard as well! Inspired by the TMO Challenge, Assumption restored an old, forgotten courtyard in their schoolyard by turning it into an outdoor classroom and butterfly garden!

On the final day of Colin’s trek, Assumption participated in Colin’s final request to get outside to join him in spirit to run the final leg of his journey together.

In May 2012, Assumption students received a very special surprise during their EcoSchools site visit. The students received their very own message from Colin Harris.

At an impromptu assembly of over 90 EcoTeam members, EcoSchools assessor, Katie MacDonald, read Colin’s letter personally addressed to the EcoTeam. Colin’s letter congratulated Assumption on all their environmental initiatives this year and his hopes to showcase some of Assumption’s work on the Take Me Outside website. Way to go Assumption!
