2010:The UN International Year of Biodiversity
The United Nations has declared 2010 to be the International Year of Biodiversity. Help your students learn about this important topic with resources from:

BEAN; Biodiversity Education Awareness Network: this website provides up to date educational information and events on biodiversity in Ontario.

On this same site you will find a link to STEP OUTSIDE, a bi-monthly, interactive journal that gives you an up close and personal review of wildlife your students can observe in southern Ontario during each month.

Species at Risk has field guides for regions across Ontario. These are
excellent resources when taking your students outside!
